RESEARCH ON HYDROGEN ENERGY SUPPLY SYSTEMS
Abstract. The article examines hydrogen energy supply systems from the perspective of the electric power industry. Hydrogen is considered not merely as a fuel, but as a controllable electrical load, a dispatchable generation source, and a long-term energy storage medium connected to the grid via power electronic converters. Alkaline, proton exchange membrane, and solid oxide electrolysis technologies are compared based on specific energy consumption, dynamic load range, and start-up characteristics, while key storage options are evaluated in terms of the additional electrical energy consumption they entail.
